The tour also enables participants to witness daily life along the coastal areas between Hue and Nha Trang. TRIP IN DETAILS

After briefing at your hotel, you’ll pick up your bike to ride along Le Loi Boulevard where the French architecture still remained, crossing the Truong Tien Bridge built in 1899 which has become a Hue’s Symbol. Visit the vivid daily live life of the locals at Dong Ba Market, not far from the Hue Citadel. You’ll then cycle along Dong Ba River – a tributary of the romantic Perfume River. You might be able to stop for a morning coffee with the locals in an ancient house if you wish to. Keep cycling to Bao Vinh ancient town which used to be the bustling trading port for hundred years under Nguyen’s reign.

Crossing the countless rice paddy fields, you pedal back to Hue to visit the Imperial Citadel, the King Tu Duc’s tomb. Visit the Incense stick & conical hat making village nearby the tomb. Next, you cycle along the Perfume River to visit a garden house – a typical of Hue ancient’s architecture house. Then soak your soul in the sound of bell from Thien Mu Pagoda. Do not miss the sunset scene on the river, you then cruise the Dragon boat on Perfume River to return the city.

The first ride will be 5km ride to Thanh Toan covered bridge on an interesting village road winding through green paddy fields. Stop for a look at one of the numerous village communal houses on the way. Leaving the ornate bridge, you’ll ride toward Truong Ha Bridge that spans the scenic Tam Giang lagoon, stop en route at a village specializing in mushroom growing. This part of our today’s ride is known to offer the most spectacular rural landscape of the whole Vietnam.

Crossing Truong Ha bridge to the other side of Tam Giang lagoon, you ride on through fishing villages to An Bang village for a visit to its well-known fantastic huge cemetery, so called the City of Ghosts. Here different symbols of different religions, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Catholicism, etc exist hand in hand in an incredible great ensemble of tombs.

Keep riding on for 10km to Tu Hien estuary and cross Tu Hien Bridge on a scenic road winding between hills on one side and Cau Hai lagoon on the other. At the intersection of this village road and Highway, shuttle to Lang Co beach for lunch. You’ll check in one of the beach front resort to enjoy beach break and swimming at Lang Co – listed as one World’s most beautiful bays in 2009. Enjoy seafood for refueling your energy.

Start your day by a warming-up around Lap An lagoon – famed as Venice of Vietnam. Ready for the most challenging part of the trip which is most unforgettable moment by climbing uphill the Pass of Clouds (Hai Van Pass). At the top of the pass, stop for a panoramic view over Danang far below. This is one of the rarest sites where you can see vestiges of the most significant contemporary eras of the Vietnamese history, vestiges of a fortification built by the Nguyen dynasty, military bunkers left from the war with the French and bunkers from the Vietnam War. From this height, enjoy thrilling views of the surrounding sea and mountains. Now you face the challenge of the downhill ride. On arriving at the foot of the pass, shuttle to Hoi An for an walking tour in the peaceful town. After visits to the vibrant cities in Vietnam such as Saigon or Hanoi, Hoi An would be a pleasant change with its tranquil, quiet atmosphere.

After breakfast, hop on your support vehicle for a short drive out of the town and cycle west along quiet road to My Son world heritage site. My Son Sanctuary is a large complex of religious monuments comprised of more than 70 architectural works built by the nobility of the Champa kingdom deriving their cultural and spiritual influences from Indian Hinduism. Only 25 vestiges remain today as a standing witness to the reign of Champa Dynasty. These are temples and towers connected to each other through complicated red brick design to reflect the divinity of the king.

Return to Hoi An by support vehicle and enjoy lunch at a good local Vietnamese restaurant. Afternoon, cycle to visit the lantern town including Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Old house, Historical museum; and keep riding to the beach for swimming. Return to your hotel by support vehicle or by your bike.

After breakfast, you’ll drive along HW1 to Quang Ngai and check in to a local hotel. After a short break, take your bike to ride on quiet country lanes towards the coast through fishing villages, the site of the My Lai massacre. The memorial museum and gardens remember the 550 villagers mainly women and children who were massacred by the Americans in the late 1960’s. You will then continue on quiet roads to the beach for a chance to swim and relax, with picnic lunch at the beach. Return to the hotel or continue looping round through fishing villages back to the hotel.

After transferring out the the town, the route today will take you along the coast from Binh Duong to Tuy Phuoc. The roads are small provincial roads passing through many villages. The cycling is on mixed quality surface, and some sections the bus may not be able to follow. Stop for a break at Sa Huynh beach and transfer to Quy Nhon. Alternatively, when you arrive at Tuy Phuoc, cycle or transfer the last busy section of about 10km to Quy Nhon.

The highlight of today’s ride is along on a great little road that follows the reunification express railroad. You will also firstly be transfer out of town to avoid the main highway. You will pick up your bike to ride along a remote but well surfaced road running alongside the railway. The terrain is gently rolling, with beautiful views of the foothills of the highlands. This is the rural Vietnam that all those other tours miss on Highway No. 1! At the end of the ride, you’ll hop on your support vehicle for a drive to Nha Trang with stop en-route at Dai Lanh Beach for a cool drink or two and a dip in the sea before heading to Whale Island Resort in Nha Trang for 3-night stay.
