What is Double room?

Double Room: a room with a large bed ideally for a couple.

What is ROH?

It means Run of House. Normally, the room of lowest category is considered as ROH. For example, Standard and Superior room.

What is Single room?

Single room is a room with a single bed for 1 person only. In Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, we often use a Double room or a Twin room for sole use as true single room is not available in Southeast Asia.

What is Triple Room?

Triple room can be a twin or double room with an extra bed.

What is Twin room?

Twin Room is a room with a pair of single beds for 2 persons. Some five-star hotels might offer 2 queen-sized beds or king-sized bed.

Can I change my tour details after confirmation?

Once the official payment has been made, changes in tour details should be requested via email (info@absoluteasiatravel.com or email of the staff processing your booking), and is subject to a surcharge of hotels and restaurants (depending on each case). Possibility of reservation amendments is also subject to service availability of our suppliers (hotels, restaurants and other)

Visa on Arrival Assistance Service (For picking up visa on arrival at airports)

To avoid wasting time and a long queue at immigration check-point at Vietnam Airports, we offer the Visa on Arrival Assistant Service. With this service, our representative will greet you right after your landing and will assist all procedures until you get your visa stamped.

Our service functions at three international airports in Vietnam for the passengers of all flights. Standard fee is US$25 per person. Please inquire us for the updated prices.

How VOA Assistant Service Run?

Step 1: In the Vietnam Visa application form, please inform us of your exact flight number and arrival time (Vietnam Time: GMT+7). If your flight is changed, please notify us at least as soon as you could before your landing via email sales@absoluteasiatravel.com or call our hotline number +84 989 695 371.

Step 2: Right after landing, our representative will greet you just before you enter the Arrival Hall with our welcome-board. In case of early landing, you cannot find our representative, please call our Hotline number +84 989 695 371.

Step 3: Our representative will collect your visa approval letter, passport, 2 passport size photos (4x6cm) and Entry & Exit form and stamping fee (US$25/ person for single entry, and US$50/ person for multiple entry one month visa) for doing your entry procedure. She/ he will do all necessary procedures until your visa gets stamped (5-10 min. only).

Step 4: Get your passport back with the Vietnam Visa stamped from our representative.

Refund policy 48 working hours: Please confirm with us your flight details at least 48 working hours in advance so that we can arrange assistant service for you smoothly. In case we don’t have the correct flight number and arrival time, no refund will be done if you are not picked up at the airport.

Do we have to tip?

Tipping is a thorny issue. As a principle and general guidance, our tour guides and all of our service men and women are advised not to ask for tips. That means, their friendly attitude towards you will not depend on you tipping them or nor tipping them. A the same time, if you feel like it, they won’t say no to any tip you decide to give.

Is it safe to travel to Vietnam?

Vietnam is known as one of the safest vacation destination of the World with very low of crime. However, we still recommend our clients to be careful with their own properties by putting their important paper and valuable items in hotel safety boxes, going out with limited amount of cash and jewelry wares to prevent from being snatched or pick-pocketed in the busy or quiet streets. That happens sometimes in the big cities.

Is there any discount for children?

Children under 12 years old may enjoy discounts in accommodation, air tickets and meals. As the discount rate for kids varies from hotels, restaurants and airline companies, you are advised to provide us with detailed information about number of kids traveling and their ages to get the exact discounts applied.

Is there any free time during a tour?

Yes, you’re in control of your time during the tour with us and we allow the balance of touring time and free time so you will enjoy the tour at its best.

Is there someone to pick me up at airport?

Most our tour packages include airport pick up service but few don’t, so please check if your airport transfer included or not on our services voucher or confirmation file with your travel specialist

What about disabled and pregnant tourists?

Disabilities or pregnancy of tourists joining the tour should be informed to us as the booking is made. All possible assistance during your trip will be advised, and also subject to surcharge. We will not be held liable if such information is not informed in advance.

What is the ability of the tour guide like?

Our tour guides are well trained, experienced and certificated as a International Tour Guide, granted by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. We monitor feedback and if their feedback rates fall below 8/10. we will not use that guide till improvement.

What is the maximum weight for check-in luggage with domestic flights?
Hand baggage includes hand baggage item(s) and one accessory. For safety reasons, the weight and dimensions must follow:
+The maximum weight for each piece of hand baggage is 10kg/22lbs.
+The total weight of hand baggage item(s), plus one accessory must not exceed:
-For Economy class: 12kg/26lbs (including one hand baggage item and one accessory)
-For Premium Economy/Business class: 18kg/40lbs (including two hand baggage items and one accessory)
+The total dimension of one hand baggage item must not exceed 115cm/45in (56cm x 36cm x 23cm or 22in x 14in x 9in).
+The total dimension of one accessory must not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 15cm or 16in x 12in x 6in.

What type of vehicles used for our tours

Vehicles Used for Our Tours

We use modern cars, minibus and coaches for all of our tours. Most are of recent vintage (2018-2022), are air conditioned, and have cooler to chill drinks. The latest additions to our fleet is the Toyota Innova (7 seaters). We always provide a larger vehicles so you will have ample room to relax; our drivers are selected for their driving ability and knowledge.

Here are few examples of vehicles used for your tours:

We seat the driver and tour guide in the front and seat up to two passengers in the rear. This car is often used for our private transfers for two passengers and the luggage is put in the booth (Our Toyota Altis/Toyota Vios are of 2018 and 2022 make) Toyota Innova (7 seaters). We seat the driver and tour guide in the front and seat up to three passengers in the rear. While there are two more supplementary seats in the rear, these are often folded down and used for luggage. (Our Everests are of 2018 and 2022 make)

This comfortable minibus is ideal for large family or small groups; It will is used for up to eight people and their luggage. The Ford Transit 16 seaters is the most frequented used for a group from 4-8 persons.We also use this vehicle to support cycling tours for for a group from 2-5 cyclists.

Huyndai County (29 seaters)We use this comfortable coach for up to 15 guests together with their luggage for private tours. Some mid-range cruise operators use this one as shuttle bus Hanoi – Halong Bay and the total passengers might go up to 20 people.

We use this comfortable coach for up to 35 guests together with their luggage for private tours. For larger group of less than 45 guests who would like all passengers on the same coach, then we will arrange an extra vehicle to transport luggage.

Can I trust in One Pay System?

Payment portal system of OnePAY is trusted by big banks in the world such as ANZ, HSBC AND ICICI. OnePAY payment portal meets standards of international financial system such as PCI DSS of PCI Security Standards Council, 3D-Secure of Visa, MasterCard and JCB. You can find more information about this system by its website: http://onepay.vn. Most travel companies in Vietnam use the system to accept payment by credit card.

Do I need to pay the deposit?

The deposit is required to guarantee your reservation (tours, hotels, transfer, …etc). After received your deposit, we’re going to reserve the services for you. So the deposit is required to secure your booking.

Normally, 20% of total cost will be required for deposit at the time of booking.

For some urgent cases or type of promotion or booking of luxurious hotel, cruise boats, we might require full payment at the time of booking.

How about the credit card refund?

All credit card refunds will be processed in a timely manner. The refunds processing depends on your billing cycle with the credit card company. Once the refund instructions leave our office it can take from 12-30 working days for the proceeds to arrive in your account.

Please note that the refunds will be made in the form of a credit to your card account.

When is my final payment due?

Final payments are due 30 days prior to your travel date. Your e-mail confirmation and the invoice you will receive in the mail will indicate the actual final payment date for your trip. We will contact you prior to the final payment date as a reminder. Regardless of booking made within 30 days, full payment shall be required.

When will my booking be firmly confirmed?

As soon as accepting to book the services with us, you have to pay the deposit for the services. In the mean time, we’ll make provisional reservation for you. Once we received your deposit notification, we’ll make firm reservation for your services straightaway – this mean your reservation is firmly confirmed with a confirmation file.

When all of the services are reserved successfully, we will update to you and send you other useful information such as travel guide, travel tips,…

If the services were fully booked (maybe booked by someone else while booking is under processed because some tour operators don’t allow blocking policy), we will inform you and suggest similar options. In case you no longer want to book these alternatives, we will refund all of the deposit amount.

Can you suggest a good beach in Southern Vietnam for beach break?

I suggest you travel to Mui Ne which is about 200 km (5 hour-drive) to the northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. It’s now one of the most popular beach resorts in the central of Vietnam with huge rolling dunes at the end of an 18km white sand beach. There is a good range of hotels on the beach, some offering accommodation in bamboo villas and bungalows. There are also plenty of restaurants along the beach road – a mixture of Vietnamese and international.

Disabled people traveling with wheel chair?

For people with wheelchairs, we will need some very special care, especially with transportation, as well as at some sites with tough grounds. Normally a private transport is arranged and a porter at some sites is needed.  Please contact our consultants to have had some experience in these cases.

Do I need any vaccination for entering Vietnam?

No, you don’t if you travel to popular cities in Vietnam. However, it is advisable that precautionary measures be taken against cholera, malaria, hepatitis A & B, typhoid and tuberculosis.

Step 2: Passenger’s Information
Send your personal information for making payment link (if you pay by credit card) and over night registration if you book Halong Bay and Mekong River Cruises. We’ll send you travel registration form with information as bellow:  

*Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss, Ms)
*Full name as it appears on the passport
*Nationality/Country of residence
*Date of birth
*Expiry date of Vietnam entry visa (If the nationality holder does not need to apply for the visa, entry date and exit date are required)

Step 3: Payment

I am solo female traveler, what should I be aware?

Generally, solo travelers having very safe environmental in Vietnam. At the time of writing, we have not heard any reports on harassment problem or anything like that in Vietnam. And you will surely discover that Vietnamese are very welcoming, warm hearted and helpful.

What if we have small children traveling with us?

For shared rooms with their parents, normally a child under 4 years old is free of charge. If an extra bed for your child is needed it would result in some additional costs.  We recommend you to arrange a private tour just for your family, thus giving you and your family more room and comfort during van transportation and flexibility in your tour itinerary.  It is the best to consult with your doctors before you bring your newborns or infants traveling to Vietnam.  Before traveling, please talk with our consultants to figure out how you will manage all the baby gear at all the sites.

Which place you recommend for family travel in Vietnam?

For Vietnam tours, Vietnam travel for family, you should consider spending some time in Hoi An Ancient Town, located about 35 km southeast of Danang. One of its highlight is Cua Dai beach, which is 5 km out of Hoi An. Cua Dai Beach is a pleasant white sand beach and can be easily reached by bicycle from Hoi An.

No, you can not. You need to enter Vietnam WITHIN approval dates as mentioned in your visa approval letter.

Can I travel without the visa approval letter?

No, you cannot. In order to board the plane, you must show the approval letter to the airlines. This letter is also compulsory in order for you to get the visa at the Vietnam airport. Therefore, we recommend that you leave plenty of time to apply for the visa to avoid having to delay or change your flight.

Disabled people traveling with wheel chair?

For people with wheelchairs, we will need some very special care, especially with transportation, as well as at some sites with tough grounds. Normally a private transport is arranged and a porter at some sites is needed.  Please contact our consultants to have had some experience in these cases.

I am solo female traveler, what should I be aware?

Generally, solo travelers having very safe environmental in Vietnam. At the time of writing, we have not heard any reports on harassment problem or anything like that in Vietnam. And you will surely discover that Vietnamese are very welcoming, warm hearted and helpful.

Is it safe to travel to Vietnam?

Vietnam is known as one of the safest vacation destination of the World with very low of crime. However, we still recommend our clients to be careful with their own properties by putting their important paper and valuable items in hotel safety boxes, going out with limited amount of cash and jewelry wares to prevent from being snatched or pick-pocketed in the busy or quiet streets. What about disabled and pregnant tourists?

Step 2: Passenger’s Information
Send your personal information for making payment link (if you pay by credit card) and over night registration if you book Halong Bay and Mekong River Cruises. We’ll send you travel registration form with information as bellow:  

*Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss, Ms)
*Full name as it appears on the passport
*Nationality/Country of residence
*Date of birth
*Expiry date of Vietnam entry visa (If the nationality holder does not need to apply for the visa, entry date and exit date are required)

Step 3: Payment
After you agree on what tours/ services to take, we’ll send you invoice and payment instruction for you to choose methods of payment (https://absoluteasiatravel.com/term-condition.html) then 20% deposit (if your departing date is more than 30 days from your booking date) and full payment (if your departing date is less than 30 days from your booking date). 

After your money credit into our bank account (normally 2 – 5 working days) we’ll send you receipt/ confirmation file.

Your booking will be completed then and you can check the booking status directly with our suppliers if you would like!

When will my booking be firmly confirmed?

As soon as accepting to book the services with us, you have to pay the deposit for the services. In the mean time, we’ll make provisional reservation for you. Once we received your deposit notification, we’ll make firm reservation for your services straightaway – this mean your reservation is firmly confirmed with a confirmation file.

When all of the services are reserved successfully, we will update to you and send you other useful information such as travel guide, travel tips,…

If the services were fully booked (maybe booked by someone else while booking is under processed because some tour operators don’t allow blocking policy), we will inform you and suggest similar options. What type of vehicles used for our tours

Vehicles Used for Our Tours

We use modern cars, minibus and coaches for all of our tours. Most are of recent vintage (2018-2022), are air conditioned, and have cooler to chill drinks. The latest additions to our fleet is the Toyota Innova (7 seaters). We always provide a larger vehicles so you will have ample room to relax; our drivers are selected for their driving ability and knowledge.

Here are few examples of vehicles used for your tours:

We seat the driver and tour guide in the front and seat up to two passengers in the rear. This car is often used for our private transfers for two passengers and the luggage is put in the booth (Our Toyota Altis/Toyota Vios are of 2018 and 2022 make) Toyota Innova (7 seaters). We seat the driver and tour guide in the front and seat up to three passengers in the rear. While there are two more supplementary seats in the rear, these are often folded down and used for luggage. (Our Everests are of 2018 and 2022 make)

This comfortable minibus is ideal for large family or small groups; It will is used for up to eight people and their luggage. The Ford Transit 16 seaters is the most frequented used for a group from 4-8 persons.We also use this vehicle to support cycling tours for for a group from 2-5 cyclists.

Huyndai County (29 seaters)We use this comfortable coach for up to 15 guests together with their luggage for private tours. Some mid-range cruise operators use this one as shuttle bus Hanoi – Halong Bay and the total passengers might go up to 20 people.

We use this comfortable coach for up to 35 guests together with their luggage for private tours. For larger group of less than 45 guests who would like all passengers on the same coach, then we will arrange an extra vehicle to transport luggage.

Is there any discount for children?

Children under 12 years old may enjoy discounts in accommodation, air tickets and meals. As the discount rate for kids varies from hotels, restaurants and airline companies, you are advised to provide us with detailed information about number of kids traveling and their ages to get the exact discounts applied.

What if we have small children traveling with us?

For shared rooms with their parents, normally a child under 4 years old is free of charge. If an extra bed for your child is needed it would result in some additional costs.  We recommend you to arrange a private tour just for your family, thus giving you and your family more room and comfort during van transportation and flexibility in your tour itinerary.  It is the best to consult with your doctors before you bring your newborns or infants traveling to Vietnam.  Before traveling, please talk with our consultants to figure out how you will manage all the baby gear at all the sites.

Can we enter Chau Doc from Cambodia with e-visa?

Yes, you can enter or exit Vietnam with e-visa if you travel by waterway from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc or vice versa.

Vĩnh Xương (Tan Chau, An Giang Province) is the location of an international border crossing with Cambodia, with the official name Sông Tiền. Its counterpart across the border is Khaorm Sam Nor Kaoh Roka border gate, Kandal Province, Cambodia. Besides conventional Vietnamese visas, this border crossing is also listed as a Vietnamese Evisa entry/exit point for foreigners.

Please list Song Tien Landport as your port of entry/exit. Kindly note that Song Tien landport is only valid for entry by river (via one of following cruises/ speed boats: BlueCruiser, Victoria Speedboat, Hang Chau Tourist Express, Jahan ship, AquaExpeditions, Mekong River Cruise, Jayavarman, AmaCruises)

Do I need a photo for VOA and if so, what is its size?

Yes, you do. However, photos are required upon arrival Vietnam’s airports only, so please remember to bring at least 2 photos of standard passport size (04×06 cm). 

Note: If you do not have time to prepare those photos before your departure, you can also get them taken at a Vietnamese airport for USD 5 or less per photo.

How can I pay Vietnam visa service fee and stamping fee?

For service fees, you can choose one of following options:

  • Sending  money via Western Union
  • Sending money via Bank Transfer

How do I receive my visa approval letter?

A colored scanned copy of the approval letter will be sent to you by email, so please make sure that you have provided us with the correct email address.

Notethe approval letter is in PDF format, so please make sure you have the latest version of AdobeAcrobat reader in order to open the file.

How long does it takes to get the approval letter?

Normally, the approval letter is processed within two (2) business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays). In urgent cases, your visa request can be processed within 4-8 working hours (excluding weekends and weekday evenings).

Notes: all applications must be submitted before 8:00 AM Vietnam time to have it finished by noon time at the earliest and 5:00 PM by the latest. All applications submitted after 2:00 PM will be held until the following business day.

How long in advance should I apply for a visa?

A Vietnamese visa application can be applied for 1 day to 6 months in advance. Although it takes only 2-3 working days to get your visa approved, it is strongly advised that you apply for a Vietnamese visa 1 – 2 weeks before your arrival date to avoid any payment or other administrative problems.

To avoid wasting time and a long queue at immigration check-point at Vietnam Airports, we offer the Visa on Arrival Assistant Service. With this service, our representative will greet you right after your landing and will assist all procedures until you get your visa stamped.

Our service functions at three international airports in Vietnam for the passengers of all flights. Standard fee is US$25 per person. Please inquire us for the updated prices.

Step 2: Right after landing, our representative will greet you just before you enter the Arrival Hall with our welcome-board. In case of early landing, you cannot find our representative, please call our Hotline number +84 989 695 371.

Step 3: Our representative will collect your visa approval letter, passport, 2 passport size photos (4x6cm) and Entry & Exit form and stamping fee (US$25/ person for single entry, and US$50/ person for multiple entry one month visa) for doing your entry procedure. She/ he will do all necessary procedures until your visa gets stamped (5-10 min. only).

Step 4: Get your passport back with the Vietnam Visa stamped from our representative.

Refund policy 48 working hours: Please confirm with us your flight details at least 48 working hours in advance so that we can arrange assistant service for you smoothly. In case we don’t have the correct flight number and arrival time, no refund will be done if you are not picked up at the airport.

What are the procedures upon arrival at Vietnam airport?

Upon arrival at the international airport, expect to fill in a simple form to fill in. Please remember to bring at least 2 passport-sized photos(04*06cm), 25 USD/person for stamp fee per person (1 month single) and 50 USD for the multiple entry. You can expect the process to take about 15 minutes-30 minutes in total.

Special Notes: Normally, it takes 15-30 minutes to get the visa stamp at Vietnam airport, however, sometimes it takes much longer (1.5-2hrs) due to the large number of arrivals.

Please keep in mind the following notes to save your time:
– Once you land, rush out as soon as possible to be the first come first serve
– Prepare all the required documents before you arrive (photos, on arrival forms) and exact amount that you need to pay for visa stamp fee in USD.

What if my passport has expired?

To apply for a visa to Vietnam, your passport must have at least 6 month’s validity. Therefore, if your passport is about to expire, please get a new one before applying for your visa in order to avoid unwanted problems at the airport.

What is the difference between single entry visa and multiple entry visa in Vietnam?

Single entry visa: You are permitted to enter Vietnam ONCE during your visa validity. If you would like to re-enter you need to apply for multiple entry visa.

Multiple entry visa: You can enter and exit Vietnam many times as you want during your visa validity.

What is visa on arrival?

This is one of, if not, the quickest and cheapest way to get your visa for Vietnam. You just need to fill in our “Online Application Form”, pay the service fee, get your “Visa approval letter” within 2 working days and pick up your visa at your arrival airport (Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang airport in Danang, Cam Ranh airport in Nha Trang, Phu Quoc airport on Phu Quoc Island)

After we obtain the approval letter for you, we will forward you a copy by email. Copies of the same document will be forwarded on your behalf to Vietnam Immigration checkpoints at International Airports only. When you arrive in Viet Nam, the Immigration officers will have those documents ready and will be able to issue your entry visa quickly.

Policy in case weather turns bad or unavailable services?

• Full refund applied if the tour is canceled before departure.

When is the best time to visit Centre of Vietnam?

We provides visitors with tours to Central Vietnam year round but December to March is the best time to visit the Central Highlands when conditions are usually dry and cool. We visited the region in late November when the weather was beautiful with fine, warm days and pleasant evenings. We had a few light showers as we headed north towards Hoi An. Along the central coast there is a rainy season from December to February. June to October tends to be very dry and hot.

When is the best time to visit North of Vietnam?

We provides visitors with tours to North of Vietnam year round but the best time to visit here is from October to April next year when it isn’t so humid. The weather turns quite cold and wet in January and this continues until March. The humidity can prove oppressive from May to the early September and there’s possibility of typhoon.

When is the best time to visit South of Vietnam?

We provides visitors with tours to South of Vietnam year round but December to April is the best time to visit the south of Vietnam. There are short downpours during the wet season from May to November but they tend to only last a short time so you can still enjoy a visit during these months (just go for lunch when you see the black clouds developing).
